RHA Members specialising in the transportation of motor vehicles on multi-vehicle transporters are represented by the business sector group known as the RHA Car Transporters Group.

The purpose of the Group is to maintain and promote professional standards in this sector of road haulage in order that the vehicles carried are transported in a safe manner and reach the customer in the best possible condition.

Members frequently have to operate up to the limits available to them under Construction & Use Regulations and other legislation and, as a consequence, changes in the legislation and the technical aspects relating to vehicle transporters and their use tend to be the prime focus of the Group's business discussions.

The Car Transporters Group, therefore, has occasion to negotiate directly with the Department for Transport (DfT) to obtain special acknowledgement and exemptions for the types of vehicle they operate in the interests of efficiency, safety and optimum service to the industry it serves.

Companies in membership of the Group are concerned for the safety of other road users and are fully aware of their duties to the employees of clients and customers, and their own drivers and other employees as required in Health & Safety legislation.
